【Enter Taiwan, Enjoy a Gift!】 Transit passengers are invited to explore Taiwan and receive a welcome gift.

To promote the experience of Taiwan’s beauty among transit travelers at Taoyuan International Airport, the Taiwan Tourism Administration (TTA), Ministry of Transportation and Communications, will launch the “Enter Taiwan, Enjoy a Gift!” campaign starting on November 1, 2025. Travelers holding a non–Republic of China (Taiwan) passport who transit through Taoyuan International Airport and enter Taiwan for a stay of up to 24 hours during their layover will receive a gift voucher worth NT$600. This initiative allows transit passengers to experience Taiwan’s warmth and convenience during their short stopover.

Online registration for this event will be open from 12:00 noon on November 1, 2025, until October 31, 2026. It is specifically designed for transit passengers and aims to encourage international travelers to take advantage of their transit time to visit the terminal, explore the airport's unique shops and Taiwanese cuisine through tangible incentives. This will enhance Taiwan's international visibility and attract transit passengers to visit Taiwan again.

Participation in the activity is quite simple. Travelers can register their basic information on the activity website, and after arriving at Taoyuan International Airport, present their passport and boarding pass for the next international flight at the Taoyuan Airport Passenger Service Center (Terminal 1 or Terminal 2) of the Tourism Administration, Ministry of Transportation and Communications, to receive an airport voucher worth NT$600. The voucher can be used at participating merchants within Taoyuan International Airport, covering restaurants, duty-free shops, souvenir shops, and other retail services. A list of participating merchants is also available on the activity website for travelers' convenience.

Taiwan's geographical location gives it an advantage as an Asian transit hub, attracting various airlines to increase their routes and flights to Taiwan. Foreign airlines, in particular, have been increasing their direct Dubai-Taipei flights to twice daily starting in August 2025, and Etihad Airways launched its Abu Dhabi-Taipei direct route on September 8th of the same year. These initiatives attract passengers from the Middle East, Europe, and other regions who use Taipei as a transit point to reach other destinations, which will help enhance Taiwan's transit position in the international air network.

Taoyuan International Airport is a vital international gateway for Taiwan, handling a large volume of transit passengers. The Tourism Administration hopes that this airport voucher program will attract more international travelers to utilize their transit time to experience Taiwan's cuisine and culture, as well as the airport's facilities and services. This initiative also aims to stimulate business activity at the airport and promote diversified growth in the tourism economy. The Tourism Administration will continue to collaborate with Taoyuan International Airport Corporation and airlines to launch more inbound travel incentives and marketing initiatives for transit passengers, encouraging international travelers to stay and explore Taiwan. This will further increase visitor numbers and tourism spending, deepen travelers' positive impressions of Taiwan, and establish Taiwan's image as a "warm, convenient, and fun international transit hub," transforming it from a "transit point" into a "tourist destination."
