Founded in 1996, the Yilan International Children's Folklore & Folkgame Festival is Taiwan's only large-scale international festival themed around children and children's play. It is also the first festival in Asia to be accredited by the Council of International Folklore and Folkgame Festivals (CIOFF®), a UNESCO partner organization.

Held annually in Yilan's Dongshan River Water Park this summer, the event integrates four key themes: exhibitions, performances, games, and exchange. It invites folk performance groups and children's play teachers from around the world to participate, creating a platform for multicultural exchange. The park features a water play area, a children's play theme pavilion, an international game zone, and a nighttime light and shadow show, perfect for family fun and cultural exploration.

The 2025 Yilan International Children's Play Art Festival, themed "30 Years of Unlimited Play," will be held at Dongshan River Water Park from July 5th to August 17th, celebrating the event's 30th anniversary. This year's festival continues its four pillars of "exhibitions, performances, games, and exchange," incorporating the concepts of "classic, creative, and sustainable" to create a kingdom of playful innocence across generations.

🎉 Event Highlights:

– Water and land facilities: The five-story "Time Castle," the Whale Adventure Pool, the Starry Sky Water War Zone, and more are perfect for family fun.

– Aerial Experiences: Challenge your courage and adventure with the "Flying Over the Galaxy" zipline and the "Childlike Soaring" tandem ride.

– Interactive exhibition: “Another Time and Space Exploration – Kabalan Legend” combines VR and somatosensory detection to explore Yilan culture.

– International Performances: We invite folk troupes from 20 countries, including Greece, Japan, the Czech Republic, and the Philippines, to perform, showcasing diverse cultures.

– Art Installation: The Snoopy Duck inflatable installation created by Dutch artist Hofmann is the most eye-catching photo-taking spot this year.

– Nighttime Activities: Water dance, light and shadow shows and street parades create a joyful atmosphere from day to night.
