A short but captivating natural journey begins by descending the stone steps from the observation deck at the north exit of the Chongde Tunnel. This five-minute walk follows a gentle descent along the stone-paved steps. Along the way, interpretive signs highlight the local ecology and cultural landscape, allowing visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the area as they stroll.
🌿 The vegetation along the route is mostly sun-loving broad-leaved species. The first platform features a pavilion and seating, making it an ideal spot to quietly admire the scenery and listen to the waves crashing against the shore. From afar, the azure Pacific Ocean is unobstructed, and the magnificent view of the sea and sky merging into one is breathtaking.
📍 Looking north, you'll see the majestic Qingshui Cliff, one of Taiwan's eight most scenic views. The majestic aura of the fault coast is not to be missed. Looking south, you'll see the Liwu River flowing leisurely into the sea, and the intact Chongde Delta. Nature and humanity are intertwined into a captivating picture.
🎣 You can also see the fishermen setting up fixed fishing nets here. If you're lucky in the evening, you might even witness them pulling in the nets and catching fish – a truly authentic and vivid moment of the trip.
