Located in Wutai Township, Pingtung County, the Shenshan Tribe is a prominent Rukai settlement. Nestled on a circular plateau in the heart of a mountain, it's known locally as "Xiawutai." The tribe, situated approximately 700 meters above sea level, was originally named Kabalelradhane, a traditional Rukai place name. Due to its elevated position, the tribe is often surrounded by clouds, and, coupled with the legend of the Moon Goddess, has earned the charming nickname "Moon Tribe."

The Shenshan Tribe boasts rich cultural heritage and natural beauty and serves as one of the administrative centers of Wutai Township. The tribe's residents are primarily Rukai people, who have preserved intact traditional architecture, clothing, language, and rituals. Visitors can participate in immersive activities organized by the Shenshan Community Development Association, including tribal tours, DIY Aboriginal cooking (such as jinafu and bamboo rice), archery, and glass bead crafting. The "Tribal Cooking School" is a key platform for promoting Rukai culinary culture.

The Wutai Sacred Heart Hall within the tribe is a representative building that blends Rukai architectural elements with modern construction techniques, symbolizing the integration of the tribe's faith and art. Furthermore, the Kinabalu Market and the stone paintings on the tribe's homes showcase the tribe's aesthetics and historical memory.
