Qingtiangang, also known as the Sun Valley, lies in the center of the Datun Mountain range, between Zhuzishan, Qigushan, Dingshan, and Huangzuishan. The flat terrain is formed from terraces formed by lava from Zhugaoshan. During the Japanese colonial period, the Japanese established the Dalingzhi Ranch here for tea cultivation and grazing. After Taiwan's restoration, the government established the Yangmingshan Ranch based on the original Dalingzhi Ranch's Qingtiangang and Lengshuikeng areas.

After Taipei City was reorganized into a municipality, this ranch came under the management of the Taipei City Farmers' Association. Today, cattle grazing on Qingtiangang can be seen, raised by farmers from Beitou, Shilin, and Jinshan. Qingtiangang's flat terrain, with its rolling green grasslands, offers a perfect natural environment for observing the grassland landscape. The rolling green slopes and trails through the lush, low-growing trees are truly impressive, making it a popular outing destination within Yangmingshan National Park.
