Annong Creek was formerly known as Dianhuo Creek. This name originated from the completion of the Tiansongpi Hydropower Plant during the Japanese colonial period. Its tailwater irrigated thousands of hectares of fertile farmland in the Sanxing Plain, and every household had electric lights (fires), hence the name Dianhuo Creek.
In 1978, the creek was renamed "Annong Creek" to stabilize farmers. Considered the "River of Life" of Sanxing Township, Lanyang Creek is a tributary of Luodong Creek and serves as the tailwater drain for the Lanyang Power Plant. It is approximately 17.2 kilometers long and has a drainage area of approximately 55.9 square kilometers. Its abundant water resources make it suitable for rafting activities. A bicycle path has been designed along the north bank of the upper reaches of the creek. Approximately 200 bald cypress trees have been planted along the path, with lush green meadows and the clear stream at its edge. The scenery is truly spectacular and has now become a nationally renowned attraction.
